Supporting Fertility and Reproductive Wellbeing
Supporting fertility and reproductive wellbeing is one of the most meaningful and specialised areas of my practice. I’ve had the honour of walking alongside many individuals and couples on their journey to conception and beyond, offering personalised care that is calm, thoughtful, and clinically informed.
Whether you’re trying to conceive naturally, navigating assisted fertility (IVF or IUI), or seeking support in pregnancy or postpartum, acupuncture offers a natural and grounding path forward. With a background as a doula, hypnobirthing teacher, and prenatal yoga instructor, I bring both practical experience and emotional insight to each treatment.
A Whole-Person Approach to Fertility
Through the combination of eastern medicine with western science, fertility acupuncture has been shown to help balance hormones, reduce stress, increase circulation to the reproductive organs, support implantation, and balance the immune system.
Through the integration of Eastern medicine and Western science, fertility acupuncture has been shown to:
- Support hormone balance
- Increase circulation to the uterus and ovaries
- Improve ovarian function and egg quality
- Reduce stress and calm the nervous system
- Balance immune and inflammatory responses
- Support implantation and uterine lining
- Ease side effects of fertility medications
Fertility isn’t a one-size-fits-all journey and acupuncture is uniquely suited to meet you where you are, supporting both your physical and emotional wellbeing along the way.
Areas of Support
Having the support of a fertility acupuncturist and advocate can help you navigate various reproductive challenges we maneuver the wide range of factors that go into a fertility journey. Acupuncture for reproductive health may help with:
- Natural and assisted fertility support (IVF, IUI, egg freezing)
- Male fertility and sperm health
- Menstrual disorders (irregular cycles, PMS, painful periods)
- PCOS, endometriosis, fibroids, ovarian cysts
- Hormone imbalance and thyroid health
- Low ovarian reserve and egg quality
- Recurrent miscarriage or implantation failure
- GI disturbances and inflammation
- Stress, anxiety, and nervous system dysregulation
- Cycle and ovulation tracking guidance
When to Begin
Starting early is often the most beneficial. It takes approximately three months for an egg to mature in the ovary before ovulation. During this time, acupuncture and supportive therapies can positively influence egg quality, endometrial health, and hormonal balance.
If you’re preparing for IVF or IUI, acupuncture can:
- Support medication tolerance and reduce side effects
- Improve response to stimulation
- Prepare the uterine lining for implantation
- Ease the emotional strain of treatment
- Offer targeted support on transfer day
Weekly acupuncture for at least 12 sessions is generally recommended in the months leading up to conception or treatment.
What to Expect in Treatment
Your sessions will be completely tailored to your current stage — whether that’s preconception, stimulation, transfer, early pregnancy, or postpartum. We’ll begin with a detailed consultation to understand your cycle, medical history, and goals.
Alongside acupuncture, I may integrate:
- Moxibustion for warming and nourishing
- Cupping for circulation and muscular tension
- Breathwork or mindfulness to support relaxation and resilience
- Red light therapy (available soon as part of my extended training)
Acupuncture sessions are often deeply calming — offering space for rest, reflection, and rebalancing.
A Calm, Evidence-Informed Practice
This is a space of quiet, considered care. My approach is rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine, guided by modern clinical insight, and always tailored to the individual. I will work alongside your fertility journey — whether you’re in the early stages of trying to conceive or in the midst of a complex treatment cycle.
If you’re seeking fertility acupuncture in Wiltshire or Bath, I would be honoured to support you.
